A kitchen designed to blend seamlessly into the lifestyle of a young family: welcoming, functional and visually harmonious.
The project was shaped by the expertise and design sensitivity of Oïa Conception, a Biscarrosse-based showroom specialising in bespoke kitchens and interior solutions for bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes. Founded and led by Jennifer Aires, the studio combines aesthetics and practicality in every detail.
In this project, the collaboration with Zecchinon made it possible to enhance the space through an intelligent use of volumes and a material palette that is essential yet full of character.
We interviewed Jennifer Aires to explore her philosophy, design choices and vision.
Could you tell us something about your practice and your approach to design?
I spent fifteen years working in real estate, a field that allowed me to develop a deep sensitivity to living spaces. My passion for interior design naturally led me towards kitchen design: a central part of the home, where functionality and aesthetics meet every day.
What led you to choose Zecchinon as a partner for your projects?
I chose Zecchinon for the quality of its products, its contemporary design and the flexibility of its customisation options, which allow me to respond precisely to my clients’ needs. I personally owned a Zecchinon kitchen and was extremely satisfied with it; that direct experience further strengthened my decision to collaborate with the brand.
In your view, which values best represent the Zecchinon brand?
I believe Zecchinon embodies fundamental values: quality, Italian know-how, reliability and a genuine attention to the customer.
The kitchen project
The project takes shape around a clear request from the clients: a modern, practical and convivial kitchen, capable of integrating naturally with the architecture of the home and with their daily routines. The central feature is the island, conceived as a meeting point, a work surface and a space for sharing. The linear composition was designed to ensure uninterrupted functionality, with distinct operational areas that remain visually cohesive.
The finishes create a subtle yet decisive contrast: dark wood volumes alternate with light, bright surfaces, giving the whole a sober, warm and timeless feel. The result is a composition that evokes the atmosphere of a domestic “cocoon”: welcoming, protective and intimate.
The worktop, the integrated sink and the colour-coordinated backsplash lighten the composition and enhance the perception of continuity.
Tall units house built-in appliances, a fluted-glass display cabinet and a wine cooler: all elements are seamlessly integrated and enhanced by a system of focused lighting. The black profiles highlight the essential geometry and disappear from sight, while the internal organisation – carefully studied – ensures capacity and order. Every choice is guided by the desire to create a coherent, intuitive space where aesthetics and practicality coexist naturally.
How did Zecchinon’s modularity influence this project?
Zecchinon’s modularity was a real strength: it allowed me to perfectly adapt the volumes to the space, optimise every storage area and integrate the island smoothly. This flexibility made it easier to achieve a kitchen that is aesthetically coherent and perfectly aligned with the clients’ lifestyle.
Which aspects of Zecchinon’s design did you find most interesting for this project?
I truly appreciate the purity of the lines, the quality of the finishes and the elegance of the materials. In this project, the textured wood doors and the discreet integration of the profiles made a remarkable difference. I also valued the precision of the internal solutions: optimised compartments and integrated fittings that enhance functionality without compromising aesthetics.
In your opinion, which trends are emerging in kitchen design?
Today I see a strong movement towards more “natural”, essential and versatile kitchens, designed with tactile materials, organic colours and increasingly intelligent, discreet storage solutions. People are looking for spaces that are authentic, welcoming and designed to last.
How can Zecchinon respond to these needs?
Thanks to its broad range of materials, contemporary finishes and its ability to innovate while maintaining aesthetic coherence, Zecchinon is perfectly positioned to offer modular, durable and customisable kitchens. It is a solid partner for those seeking to create bespoke environments that can evolve over time.
The kitchen designed by Oïa Conception captures with precision the idea of a contemporary living space: balanced, elegant and functional. A project that reflects the studio’s ability to listen and its meticulous attention to detail, enriched by Zecchinon’s modular approach and material quality. A space designed to last, to be lived with ease every day.
