From vision to practice: the making of Villa 19.6

Tell us how it all began. What path led you to where you are today, running your own studio?

After studying interior design, I began my career in a high-end contemporary furniture showroom. That’s where I fell in love with beautiful shapes—and with Italian design.

Later, I joined a leading French furniture brand as a designer, an experience that gave me a strong technical foundation and broadened my perspective.

Working with an Italian kitchen showroom in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez felt like a natural progression. Two years ago, the opportunity arose to take over the business—and so the new chapter of Villa 19.6 began.

Let’s talk about Zecchinon. How did the collaboration come about?

Funnily enough, it was Zecchinon that found me! I didn’t know the brand at first.

But through our early projects, I discovered it, appreciated it, and eventually fell in love with it. We’ve now been working together for five years. It’s been a truly rewarding journey—professionally and personally.

In your view, what defines Zecchinon?

Its ability to adapt to every project, the elegance of Italian design, and the genuine sense of familiarity in every exchange with the team. Most importantly, Zecchinon offers real, tangible support to its partners—something that’s both rare and invaluable.

A Saint-Tropez residence where light meets substance

Among Villa 19.6’s most recent projects, one stands out for its harmonious blend of Mediterranean spirit and contemporary function: the renovation of a historic home in the heart of Saint-Tropez.

“This house needed a kitchen with soul—something that could honour its story.”

The design concept was born from the interplay between the clean lines of contemporary kitchens and the textured warmth of natural materials. Matte Fenix NTM doors ensure visual continuity and practicality, while the inclusion of wood brings in a sense of authentic warmth, echoing the character of a Provençal home.

The dialogue between wood columns and Fenix-clad surfaces creates a refined visual balance, offering a seamless, understated elegance. The finishes were chosen not to create contrast, but to guide the eye gently, preserving the architectural rhythm of the space.

Here, the kitchen is more than a functional zone—it becomes part of the home’s identity. It’s a space designed to be lived in, to resonate with the spirit of the house and the very essence of Mediterranean hospitality.

Form, materiality and detail come together to convey a sense of contemporary simplicity, softened by tactile finishes and warm hues. This is the kitchen as a fluid, authentic, elegant living space.

The collaboration with Villa 19.6 is a prime example of how brand and designer can come together in creative synergy—enhancing materials, enriching perspectives, and elevating daily rituals. It’s proof that a kitchen doesn’t stand apart from the home’s narrative: it becomes a focal point, a bridge between architecture, interior design and lifestyle.
